We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Apprentice Vehicle Technician to join our Service Department and train towards becoming a fully qualified car mechanic under the Toyota technical training programme.
The Role
As an Apprentice Vehicle Technician, you will work alongside experienced, qualified technicians in our workshop, gaining hands-on experience while studying towards a recognised automotive qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, delivered in partnership with the Toyota & Lexus National Apprenticeship Programme or a Local College). You will learn to diagnose, service, maintain, and repair Toyota vehicles to the manufacturer's exacting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist qualified technicians with routine servicing, maintenance, and repair of Toyota vehicles
- Learn to carry out diagnostic checks using Toyota-approved diagnostic equipment
- Support with tasks such as oil changes, brake checks, tyre fitting, and battery testing
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area in line with health and safety standards
- Accurately record work carried out on job cards and digital systems
- Attend college/training provider sessions as required, completing coursework and assessments on schedule
- Follow Toyota's technical procedures, safety guidelines, and quality standards at all times
- Build strong product knowledge of the Toyota range through structured training modules
- Communicate professionally with colleagues, service advisors, and customers
- Progressively take on more complex tasks as skills and confidence develop
What We're Looking For
- A genuine passion for cars and a strong interest in the motor trade
- GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths, English
- Willingness to learn, take instruction, and work as part of a team
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic
- Basic mechanical aptitude (previous hobby/informal experience with vehicles is a plus, but not essential)
- A full or provisional UK driving licence is desirable
- Comfortable with physical work, including standing for long periods and lifting
